Sydney Olympic FC CEO John Boulous today welcomed the release of the 2017 Playstation 4 NPL NSW Men’s Draw.
The Club released the following statement, highlighting some key fixtures and match dates;
There is much anticipation ahead of the 2017 season and with a busy pre-season training and match schedule, the players, coaches, members and fans cannot wait for the season to start.
We have a difficult start to the season with only two home games in the first seven rounds at Belmore Oval. This is due to the unavailability of the ground during this time. Throughout the middle of season the club will benefit from a large percentage of home matches and will be able to build some good momentum in setting us up for the final rounds.
Our first home game is in Round 2 on Sunday 19 March against Wollongong Wolves, on the back of a first round away trip to Bonnyrigg.
We host Sydney FC in a stand-alone match of the round on the long weekend Monday 12 June, which I am sure will draw a big crowd. In addition to our usual home game 3pm first grade kick offs, we have two 5.00pm first grade kick offs in Round 17 and 19, which should provide great atmosphere under lights, again this is due to the availability of Belmore Oval but something we are excited about.
The club has opened our membership and season pass program for 2017 and we encourage all our fans to become members and support the squads in what we expect will be a very successful season.

Dear Members and Friends of Sydney Olympic Football Club.

With the pre-season commencing I thought it was a great opportunity to touch base and provide an update to our players, parents, sponsors, members and supporters.

Having been in the position for just nearly two months, I have had an opportunity to meet with many of our stakeholders and it is great to see much excitement and enthusiasm ahead of the 2017 season. As a club we have a lot to do in order to achieve our goals, this cannot be done alone and by working together I am confident a very successful 2017 and beyond on and off the field awaits. Everyone can play their part and I look forward to leading this process in the weeks and months to come.

We are committed to building a stronger future for our Club and its members both on and off the field. Our club shares a strong tradition, with many people contributing to this since 1957. Our challenge now is to create an environment of excellence providing an opportunity for our club, players and coaches to reach their maximum potential.

In the last two months the club has;

• Conducted its Legends match at Belmore Oval and End of Season Function.
• Appointed Technical Director and coaching staff to conduct our football program.
• Conducted Skill Acquisition Program, Youth and Senior male and female trials.
• Undertook clothing fittings for all players in all squads for the 2017 season.
• Undertook Female and Male Squad Information and coach sessions, detailing the club’s technical philosophy and football program.
• Officially commenced pre-season training and friendly matches.
• Had our Under 11 squad tour Germany and Poland to compete in the Legia Cup.
• Conducted the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 30 November 2016.

In regards our Technical leadership for the 2017 season, as announced at the Club Presentation in September, Jaime Monroy has been appointed Club Technical Director and First Grade Coach. His role in addition to leading our First Grade squad is to set the technical philosophy and direction of the club and work with Coaches and squads to implement this. Grant Lee continues with the club as Football Director and will take a hands on technical leadership focus with our Women’s Program and will work closely across other areas to enhance our football program.

The key strategic priority for the club is to improve our facilities to be able to expand our football program offerings. In the coming weeks we have meetings scheduled to progress opportunities for facility enhancement and development at both Peter Moore Field and at Tempe Park. We will keep you updated as things progress, but we are hopeful of being able to report some positive developments in the near future.

From a football program perspective our focus remains on youth development and with this a focus on producing the best player’s possible at all levels of our pathway. Through this we are confident players that are developing in our SAP and Youth programs will be aspiring to play male and femaleSenior football at our club in the years to come.

In regards our Women’s program, we remain focused on ensuring our Club is giving ourselves the best chance for promotion into the NSW Premier League 1 Competition. We have this year increased resources in this area to help achieve this focus, with a large focus of Grant Lee’s role being to support our coaches and squads.

Our squads are all now back into pre-season training and a full schedule of pre-season friendly matches for all squads will be communicated in January once finalised. On Sunday, our Men’s Youth and Senior squads will play Stanmore Hawks in a full day of football at Arlington Oval, Dulwich Hill. Our Under 13 squad kick off at 9.00am, and we move right through to our first grade team kicking off at 7.00pm.

In regards the first grade team, they have been training for 7 weeks now, equating to over 20 sessions. In this time they have been focusing on position and possession in line with the team playing style and methodology. In addition to training they have played two friendly matches against Western Sydney Wanderers U20 and Parramatta FC. The squad was successful in both these matches winning 2- 0 and more importantly than the results are showing that the players are developing their understanding and execution of the game methodology. We are currently using this training and match schedule to trial a number of players, with a few positions still available in the squad. Many players from last year have been retained and we look forward to providing more detail about our squad later in January, including our new additions to the Club.

For the 2017 football season, the following coaches have been appointed to lead our squads;

U-9 Coach Leon Alexiou
U-10 Coach Max Andriotti
U-11 Coach Kerim Baba
U-12 Coach Bruno De Nobrega
U-13 Coach Ivan Petkovic
U-14 Coach Demetri Giannopoulos
U-15 Coach Milan Blagojevic

U-18 Coach Jim Patikas
U-20 Coach Kerim Baba

U-12 Coach John Pladas
U-13 Coach Peter Millis
U-15 Coach Nick Scott
U-17 Coach Steven Chilas

A key focus off the field is growing our sponsorship program and with this in mind anyone that feels they can contribute in this area, whether as a sponsor them self or by providing an introduction, don’t hesitate to contact me. We have a level of partnership on offer for all investment types, large and small and we can tailor something to your needs. Shortly we will be launching our Friends of Sydney Olympic Business Club, with a key focus on developing business to business relationships. In addition to this, we have prominent branding positions on our apparel available as well as signage, digital, hospitality, coach and individual player partnership opportunities.

I would like to take this time to wish you and your family a wonderful festive season and thank you for your continued support of Sydney Olympic FC. I look forward to touching base in the New Year and seeing you around training or at the games.

Kind regards

John Boulous
